(Here's my first content that I wrote for a job :P ) - Inevitability of Technology

Hey, whoever's on the other end. Here's the first content that I've written for a job. This will always be one of my all time favs :)

Evolution is inevitable. Growing usage and the advancement in technology we have seen over the years are very good proof of that. Technology has revamped the way work, the way we communicate with one another, and the way we live our very life. We can't complain or question the technological advancements we have seen and will be seen in the future.

Impact of Technology

I said we can't question or complain the technological advancements. The reason being adoption is the only way. We don't have to go back a century to see how we have adapted to various circumstances, just going back 50 years or even 20 years is more than enough. Social media has taken over a whole generation of people glued to a few inches of a digital screen. This is nothing short of being in prison - in a way if you think about it.

I seriously can't remember the last time I picked up a newspaper to keep myself updated about the happenings around the world when I can see everything within the palm of my hand. Not a bad thing but just a series of changes.

Going out to movies with friends has changed. There are some applications out there that can enable many people to connect together online to do an "online watch party" of the movies (The movie will be synced, and anyone pauses/play the movie)

Dating has changed. The good old days are gone when one friend pushes the other to make them go and talk to their loved/liked ones. Nowadays, there are n-number of dating applications that can enable us to connect online within minutes.

Having a bit of a laugh with friends and family has changed. In the past people would have no way but to go out to the park, to movies, and to shop to kill time and to have fun. But that is not the case today. Everything can be done online in the comfort of their home. Movies can be watched online, and food can be ordered online...

So, why bother, eh?

Finding The Balance

And here I am typing using the same Digital device I complained about earlier. Again, we don't have an option but to adapt. But... We should adapt so with finding the balance between our regular and digital life. Putting a certain threshold limit to digital life is more than necessary in today's scenario. I know it must be done but I can't speak for that as I'm still struggling to find the right way to do it though I have reduced my "average" screen time in the past few months, so I guess we can start from there.

Is Digitalization Worth It?

Shortly, YES. It definitely is. One major element that digitalization has done is accessibility to information.

The accessibility to any type of information available is the most gifted thing we have with technology. You can learn literally anything on YouTube ranging from complex science to a simple "how to drink water". Any improvements in history have some sort of negative effect. With digitalization, there are a lot of problems, but these can be solved by putting time and effort into finding the balance. Once we realize the impacts and sort that out, it will not only be worth it, but it'll make our lives a whole lot better.
